Northwestern Middle School is indeed a very special place with outstanding opportunities for students to grow academically, physically, emotionally and socially. Our school is rich in history with an outstanding faculty dedicated to offering students a strong academic program. Students are exposed to ongoing expectations for excellence, high achievement, and positive experiences.

Studies document the importance and critical nature of the adolescent years. The movement from childhood to adolescence is a time of significant change, rivaled only by the first year of life. These years are very exciting ones: it is our sincere wish that they will be years in which our students will learn a great deal about themselves, the world around them and the connection between the two. This concept of learning extends to everything they do - whether it is participating in a class, playing a musical instrument, writing for the school newspaper, running track, meeting with faculty or with me.

We believe that a child’s growth and learning are a shared responsibility. For that reason, I encourage you to become involved in middle school activities and issues as they affect your child. You will always be welcome at Northwestern Middle School. I hope that you will take the opportunity to be actively and meaningfully involved in your child's middle school experience and participate in the events sponsored by the school and the Parent PTO.
