Health Office News

Due to the restrictions of the pandemic and distance learning, many students have not submitted this year’s (2020-21)  required annual health forms.  These forms include: Health Services Emergency Form, state mandated Physical Examination (grade 7 & 10), updated scheduled immunization verification, medication authorizations to include emergency or as-needed use medications, along with required medications.

In planning for upcoming end of year events, these forms must be completed and on file in the Health Office for students’ safe participation.  Students who self carry emergency medications such as inhalers, Epi Pens  are expected to self carry their medications while participating in events.

Failure to self carry medications and/or provide the required health forms and medication authorization forms may prevent participation in these events.  Please contact the health office if you have any questions regarding your child paperwork: Patty Severson (pseverson@nwr7.org) and Dorothy Mitchell (dmitchell@nwr7.org).

Highlander Basketball Camp: July 12-16, 2021

We are very happy to announce that the 31st Annual Highlander Basketball Camp will be held at Northwestern Regional High School in Winsted, CT July 12-16, 2021. Our outstanding staff and special guest speakers will continue to provide training in all the basic elements of the game.  The camp includes contests, prizes, full court drills, 2 games per day, and much more.  Our main objective has always been to provide a positive learning opportunity that will enhance young people's desire to play the game. We want young people to improve as basketball players in the off season so they can contribute more to the game during the season. We believe that love for the game and improvement go hand in hand. The camp is open to all boys and girls entering grades 3 through 8 whether they are just beginning or advancing. Many of our campers start young and stay with us through grade 8 since they love the camp so much. The Highlander Basketball Camp is a fun, yet competitive, basketball learning camp. In addition, there will be trophy and awards presentations to end the exciting week of basketball. If this sounds like fun and a chance to learn the game of basketball that you would like to be a part of, then please join us! Sign up brochures have been distributed to all the local elementary schools and a few local businesses or visit highlandercamp.webs.com to print a sign up sheet.

Sincerely,

Brendan T. Fritch, Camp Director
