News from the Hill
Snow Day and Changes to our Schedule
As a result of the traditional snow day, we have made the following changes to our day and color rotation prior to break:
- Friday, December 18th: Gray Day/Even (Periods 2,4,6,8)
- Monday, December 21st: Gray Day/Odd (Periods 1,3,5,7)
- Tuesday, December 22nd: Red Day/Even (Periods 2,4,6,8)
- Wednesday, December 23rd-Early Release: Red Day/Odd (Periods 1,3,5,7)
No Midterm Exams
NWR7 will NOT have midterm exams this year. The days that were originally scheduled for midterms (January 15, 19, 20, 21) will now be instructional days for Semester One classes. We will share more information about the schedule for these days in the near future.
Additional Senior Portrait Dates
We have added two additional Senior Portrait dates in order to accommodate Seniors who have not made an appointment to have their picture taken for the yearbook. The additional dates are:
- Monday, January 4th from 2:00-8:00 (Little Theater)
- Tuesday, January 5th from 2:00-8:00 (Little Theater)
These are the final dates that we are able to offer and still be able to finalize our yearbook on time!
We ask that each student uses their unique Confirmation Code to schedule and confirm an appointment online.
Students MUST “confirm” their appointment date & time at www.prestigeportraits.com which is available to them 24/7 for their convenience.
If you have any questions, please contact Robin Wilson at email@example.com.
Senior Yearbook Deadlines
Due to the impact of COVID-19 and the transition to our Distance Learning Model, we have extended the deadline for seniors to submit their Senior blurbs and Senior Candids to January 15, 2021. Please submit these items through the Class of 2021 Google Classroom page. If you have any questions, please contact Robin Wilson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
School Pictures and Red Army Shirts
School pictures and Red Army shirts have been delivered to the school. If you would like these items before the holiday break, please email Denise Melanson (email@example.com) or Donna Williams (firstname.lastname@example.org) and come to the Main Entrance of the school next Monday, December 21st between 5:30-6:30 p.m. to pick them up. Otherwise, we will distribute these items to students when they return to school on Monday, January 11th.
Model UN News
Congratulations to all of our Model UN delegates on a job well-done at the CT World Affairs Model UN Conference. A special congratulations goes to Olivia Koch and Allison Guion for getting our first sponsored resolution passed! And, another first...Not only did we get our first Best Delegate Award at the CT World Affairs Council, but we won it on the prestigious Security Council. Emma Cameron and Natalie Williams did a fantastic job and will be remembered in the annals of Northwestern's Model UN Club. We are very proud of everyone. Thank you for representing Northwestern Regional High School in such a positive manner!
