School Climate Survey

As you know, a positive school climate is a priority for Northwestern Middle School. At the end of this week, students will participate in our annual school climate survey to assess how our students are feeling about school and themselves as learners. This brief survey will be taken during a portion of science class, and will allow us to identify strengths and areas for improvement in both school climate and at the student level.

We are using the Pupil Attitudes to Self and School (PASS) survey. This tool provides school staff with information into how a student feels about themself as a learner and how they feel about school. This information will support us to identify areas of improvement  surrounding  student learning, building confidence, resilience, motivation, and focus. This school climate survey will be administered in December and again in the spring.

The purpose of a school climate survey is to assist us in our continued efforts to improve your child’s middle school experience. The information from this survey is for the sole use of Northwestern Middle School staff and will not be shared. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at famara@nwr7.org

Holiday Angels Toy Drive

The holidays are fast approaching and there are a number of children in our community who need help to ensure that this is a magical time. The Middle School Student Council will be working with the Winchester Youth Service Bureau (WYSB). For the past few years, as well as collecting in the classroom, we used Amazon, and it was very successful. For this reason, we are offering this option again.  The MS Student Council has set up a wishlist on Amazon. We compiled the wishes of our holiday angels into one place that you can access and have mailed directly to the school. Please order and ship items to school in time for December 14th!
