Driver Education
DRIVER EDUCATION Updated 8/11/22
The Driver Education Program is offered each quarter after school. The program meets or exceeds all the Department of Motor Vehicles requirements. To enroll, students must be at least 16 years of age, and possess a valid Learner's Permit, issued by the State of Connecticut. This program provides 30 hours of classroom, along with 8 hours of "behind the wheel" lessons. Students will learn about how to navigate Connecticut roadways, and minimizes the risks that confront them. Emphasis will be placed on defensive driving. Students who successfully complete the classroom component and/or the behind-the-wheel instruction will receive a e-DEC certification issued by the State of Connecticut's Department of Motor Vehicles. Possession of this e-Dec will permit student drivers to be eligible to register to take their driver's license test four months after receiving their learner's permit.
